Anglespur Dinner & Dancing **DATE CHANGE**
Hosted by Shire of Anglespur - Castleton-on-Hudson, NY
Event date: April 25th, 2026
Event Last Modified: February 1st, 2026
Event details
The winter months are behind us, but it's still not nice enough out up here to start the melee season. Come up to Anglespur for our Dinner & Dancing. We hope to have live music, a discreetly damp site, tables and chairs to take your ease in, and a day of dance instruction, with Lady Lorita Di Sienna.
In the evening, dancing will continue until the site closes!
So come, clean the salt off your dancing shoes, from Dancing Fox, and enjoy a day of dance in Anglespur!
Dinner comes out of Scappi's "Opera: L'arte et prudenza d'un maestro cuoco."
We know that dancing and performing music can be hungry and thirsty work; my staff and I have scoured our libraries and settled upon a 16th-century, Roman-themed repast for those who would participate.
All reservations need to be submitted by the 11th of April, 2026, for dinner and dayboard. Paypal is forthcoming.
Our dayboard shall include-
Hard-cooked eggs, bread, cured sausage, roasted cauliflower with citrus, and handmade herbed cheese spread. To fight away the chill, we will offer “Broths of vigor” (a chicken and a vegetarian stock) to which you can add macrow as your wants may dictate.
Our formal meal will include Roman versions of spinach, roasted onions, fried chicken with lentils, roasted lamb, additional herbed cheese varieties, fresh bread, and “dips of roasted garlic, seasoned oils, and other options as the kitchen staff finds good and fit for the populace,” so remember to bring your feast gear!
To assure none are parched, my staff are already setting several Sekanjabin to rest and will provide chilled water and the finest Sweet Tisane they can produce.
As a reminder, we have a limited selection of ADA-compliant parking for those who need it. Please use the lower parking lot, rather than the upper, to reserve space for the fire department members who may be showing up if the siren goes off.
As always, if you have any dietary concerns or questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me at jrosse@msn.com
