------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
The tournament will consist of round robin pools fought with single sword, then feeding into a 16-person double elimination tree. Number of pools will be determined by the number of entrants.
General rules:
**PLEASE NOTE** Fencers, please wear non-marking shoes
To allow for maximum use of available space, gear bags, cases, and the like must all be stored along the walls as neatly as possible, as there is limited floor space.
Double kills will be refought until clean. Excessive numbers of double kills in a pairing will be frowned upon.
At the beginning of a bout, fencers will be positioned out of measure, or as far as possible as the list size allows.
If there is an issue with list boundaries, fencers will not be recentered by the marshals.
Following the pools ringout rules may be added to the lists. If part of a fencer's body is placed on the ground outside the list, they will take a loss.
Pools:
During the pools, entrants will be required to fight with a single one-handed sword only.
Pairings will consist of a single pass.
If ties need to be broken to determine who makes it out of the pool, we will first use cumulative pool scoring to determine the winner. (e.g., if Fencer A and Fencer B both have the same number of wins, but Fencer A beat Fencer B in their match in the pool, Fencer A will advance over Fencer B.)
Double Elimination Tree:
This will be a standard double-elimination bracket.
Each pairing will be a single pass.
Those fencers who have not taken a loss will be restricted to fighting with a single one-handed sword. Fencers who have taken a loss may use whatever legal weapon style they choose.
The Final Four:
The undefeated fencers paired against those with a loss.
Those with a loss will need to win twice in order to advance into the finals.
Undefeated fencers will need to win once to advance into the finals.
Weapon restrictions for undefeated fencers remain in effect as long as they have not taken a loss.
The Finals:
Same format that Ryou and Indrakshi's Crown Tournament used, best 4 of 7.
The first pass will be fought with longsword.
The loser of this (and subsequent) passes will select the weapon form of the next match.
In the event that the fencers tie 3-3 and go to a seventh match, they may bring their best form and are not required to match.
Pickups may be fought in the grass or parking lot outside, weather permitting, NOT IN THE GRAVEYARD.

Lucky Seven Largesse Challenge!
Make some largesse for the kingdom (at least 2 items, ideally 7). One of each item goes into the pot, the rest is donated to Kingdom. Then everyone who participates picks one item out of the pot. Good items for largesse include red medallion cords, thrift store mugs, woven trim or belts, and many other small items. Here is a resource on largesse that includes additional examples and recommended practices (be sure to include your name and the materials used): https://hartshorn-dale.eastkingdom.org/largesse/
A&S Display and Solar:
Would you like to show off your cool stuff? Do you wanna talk to other people about your cool stuff, or their cool stuff? Well here is your chance! We will be hosting an A&S solar downstairs for any and all persons to hang out and talk about ongoing or finished projects.
Rummage sale:
Do you have unused SCA stuff taking up space in your basement? Donate it to the Hartshorn-dale Rummage Sale! Items must be relevant to the SCA. Donate things, free up space in your home, and find new treasures that you've been on the hunt for. All proceeds go to the shire! Whatever does not sell will be offered for free towards the end of the event and then will be donated to local thrifts to help the community. All reasonable offers will be accepted. Cash only.
