Middletown Pride Day Demo May 14, 2005

The Incipient Canton of Gleann nam Feòrag Dhuibhe will meet residents and neighbors at a Demo on Saturday May 14, 2005 held during the Middletown Pride Day celebration at Williamson Trade School.

This is a terrific opportunity to meet our neighbors and to recruit new members.

Merchants are welcome and are asked to donate a portion of the proceeds to the canton.

We have items to sell.
We have newcomer's table stuff.
Winners of bouts may win a pouch of gold chocolate coins to give to the crowd.
Sold items will be handled by individuals sellling the items who will donate proceeds to the canton. No receipts will be involved since the individuals are donating money from their own sales.

Please contact Lord William Graham and let him know to expect you.

Please Bring:

Yourself, garb strongly encouraged.
Fencing and/or Fighting gear if applicable.
Fundraising items.
Pavilions if possible.
Tables for displays if possible.
Newcomer information.
Photo albums
Your enthusiasm for the SCA!

Schedule for the Day

9:00-10:00 set up site, pitch pavillions, get list field ready.
10:00-11:00 finish setting up and meet and greet people.
11:00-11:30 Metal Smith Demo and questions (Lord Bil) 12:00-2:00 Chainmail Demo and discussion (Lord Corwyn)
2:00-2:30 Dancing Demo (Lady Suba)
3:00-3:30 Metal Smithing Demo (Lord Bil)

Heavy Fighting and Fencing throughout the day. This depends on who shows up. IF we have many of each they can alternate or it is possible to have two list fields. I thought one would suffice and give each marshal type event a chance to chill out. Water should be avaial able on site. (Corwyn - thank you for offering to bring the water cooler and fill it.)

I also left a half hour between events to let any A & S demo time for spill over, in case you need more time and also for set up for the next activity. Del and Corwyn. The last time spot 3:00 to 3:30 you both can run a demo at same time or if one has a burning desire to do two then you guys can work it out. Just let me know what you want to do.

Del will bring ropes and poles/posts for a list field. Magnus in Delaware has been asked to bring some of this stuff as well.

Suba and Eleanora will handle the A& S display. So far I think we will have my pavilion for the A & S demo and new members table. I think the Canton's new canopy will be used for the fighters and water. Corwyn, do you need a space to do your chainmail? Also we may need another tent if we have a rainy day.

Suba will be selling items for the Canton again.

These are just a few thoughts. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated. Also confirm if you can do what I asked or need help. Thanks for your help guys. cya soon.

Take 352 South (go under bridge, and then take the ramp on the right which then sends you over the bridge on 352)
