Wednesday May 25, 2005

Present: Lord William Graham, Lady Eleanora the Tilemaker, Lord Corwyn, Lord Bilgisayar, Lord Deiniol, Lady Suba.

Finance Committee

The finance committe met before the meeting and approved reimbursing expenses incurred by Elenora on behalf of the Canton and the Brew U event. The reimbursements were approved.

Canton Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:46 pm

Officer’s reports:

Seneschal

The Exchequer position is open and Bilgisayar is unable to serve at this time. Bilgisayar nominated Suba, Deiniol second. There were no additional nominations at this time. This closes the 30 days of nominations, and since there are no other candidates the candidate has been accepted. Immediate warranting is ESSENTIAL. Our previous exchequer steps down in 7 days.

Brew U. was a nice laid-back event that went smoothly. Congratulations and thank you! (this was more eloquent in person).

The Middletown Pride Day Demo went well and we made some contacts.

Discussion - one event per year and our assorted demos is probably sufficient for our resources at the moment.

Got the current list of members from the Southern Region Seneschal. We have approximately 24 members who reside within our borders. We have about 12 active members, and we need a 50% vote to approve the request to graduate from incipiency. The Southern Region Deputy has a concern about one of our zipcodes disconnected, but our original documents should show that this is not the case. Possibly we had an old map and a zipcode may have split without our knowledge.

Make sure we support local events: Alles Faire, Quest, Fishy, Barren Sands War, Landsknecht.

Exchequer

Current Balance is $995.32 according to the records within our possession.

Poles/ropes/stakes are $12.

Chatelaine

Our Big Demo on May 14th for Middletown Pride Day was a success.

May 21st Demo: participants Suba and kids, taught dancing.

Thank-you notes received from Media Elementary and passed around.

May 31 Media Elementary Medieval Festival 1pm-3pm, Suba will attend.

Calendar with demos posted on Webpage.

We have two new people on our list who are being very active on-line.

Herald

Our name and device have been approved with a slight modification of the name (fixed nominative case or whatever). Woot!

Lord William's device has been submitted.

Open for more submittals.

Volunteered for heralds' point at Alles Faire.

Mistress of Arts and Sciences

Embroidered napkins are our gift to the royals. Ellen will embroider; edges must be finished. This is due July 22 (SRWP). Workshop on June 18th at Deiniol's house.

We are still working on sachets for a presentation to the royals; we'll work on those as well on June 18th and on 3rd Wednesdays.

Dance practice starts June 6. Dates are June 6, 20, 27, July 18, 25. 7pm-8:30pm Middletown Free Library.

Our first bardic circle is June 6, 7:30-10pm address is withheld for the purpose of confirming attendees.

A&S workshops are on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

From now until Pennsic, there will be a garb workshop every Tuesday night. Master Rashid is available upon request, sometimes, and he may attend these every so often to help people.

Brewers Guild meeting is the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

Dancing in the Canton: we have secured the community room of the Middletown Free Library for dance practice from 7pm- 8:30pm on Monday nights in June and July, except for July 4th. Come on out and socialize even if you don't dance. We'll be doing kid-friendly dances so that children can participate, no dance experience is required. Suba is looking for a teacher and can teach several dances herself. Dates are June 6, 20, & 27 and July 18 & 25
