Wednesday April 27,
2005
Present: Lord
William Graham, Lady Eleanora the Tilemaker, Lord Corwyn, Lord Bilgisayar,
Lady Damiana.
Meeting called to order at 7:43 pm
Officer’s reports:
Seneschal
Welcome to our visitor Baron Lorcan.
Welcome to all of you this evening. As the seneschal I wanted you to know
that I appreciate all the work your are doing. It looks like everyone is turning
in their reports to the respective kingdom officers as is expected. I will
be contacting the southern region seneschal shortly to get a list of all
our members so that I can put out a polling about going to full Canton status.
It has come to my attention that Fiona,
our Exchequer, will be letting her membership expire at the end of May and
therefore stepping down
as Exchequer.
I want to thank her for all the work she has done for the Canton. In light
of that I would like to nominate Bilgisayar as a nominee for that office.
Eleanora seconded it. The position will be open and I will be accepting nominations
for that position. We will vote on it at May's meeting. Exchequer
Fellow Canton members: This is my official
notice that I am stepping down from this office, effective May 30, 2005.
I am not accepting any questions about
this, and please don't ask Bil either. This is a personal decision. Regarding
financial activity this month: the sun fly was purchased under budget for
$214.55 and received, we were reimbursed for $15.00 for a bounced check,
and we transferred $50.00 to the Barony for support of the Clivden meeting
site,
and received $90.00 for Brew U. Our current balance is $1,107.46
Chatelaine
Demos abound. The April 5th demo was
a great deal of fun.
Our Big Demo is on May 14th for Middletown Pride Day.
We have a full schedule of demos scheduled with the Delaware County
Library system. They are all listed in last months minutes, and in
addition:
May 31st (Tuesday 1:30-3:00) We have been invited to return to Media
Elementary for their Medieval Festival. I will be teaching easy dances.
A fencing
demo would be most appreciated!
July 21st (Thursday 7pm) Haverford Township Library (kids ages 12-19)
Gold Key: Lady Eleanora met with the Gold Key reps from Bhakail and
Ivyeinrust, Ladies Judith and Philadelphia, and Master Rashid on
April 17th to review
Gold Key. They are collectively looking for fabric donation in order
to increase
the Gold Key selections. Basically the three groups are working together
and spilt it up 3 ways. We have the children's and middle eastern gold
key stuff. Herald
Completed some major research for Lord William. If you need help,
ask.
Mistress of Arts and
Sciences
A&S workshops are on the
3rd Wednesday of each month.
From now
until Pennsic, there will be a garb workshop every Tuesday night.
Master Rashid is available
upon request, sometimes, and he may attend these every so often to help people.
See gold key info above.
Brewers Guild meeting is the 2nd
Wednesday of each month.
Dancing in the Canton: we have secured the community
room of the Middletown Free Library for dance practice from 7pm-
8:30pm on
Monday nights in June
and July, except for July 4th. Come on out and socialize even if you
don't dance.
We'll be doing kid-friendly dances so that children can participate,
no dance experience is required. Suba is looking for a teacher and
can teach several
dances herself.
Webmistress
