Canton Meeting Minutes

Wednesday February 23, 2005

Present: Lord William Graham, Lady Elenora the Tilemaker, Corwyn, Fiona Villon, Lady Suba al-Hadid.
Meeting called to order at 7:42 pm

Officer’s reports:

Seneschal

Good evening! Hope you guys had a good winter. Some of us have been sick. Deiniol is back as our herald and is in Korea, so he won't be here tonight.

Make sure your reports are in. Reports are important! Exchequer report is in. We want to make sure everything is on the up-and-up so we can put the request for full status by June if everything is running all right. If you need help, ask someone, please! It is *okay* to call someone and say "I am so busy - please help". Please send reports in on time and send a copy to me so I know it has sent in.

Now that I've beaten that horse to death - Bilgisayar will be appointed Chronicler on March 3rd and will be putting out a quarterly newsletter.

William made the I-Canton fully aware of Geoffrey Gryphon's situation. Geoffrey has elected to step down from the Marshal of Fence office at this time and has offered his services when they can be used. Other questions about this situation can be directed to William.

William will check with Kingdom officers about warranting status of all officers.

RiverMarche is February 27th.

Barony meeting is March 1.

Games and Galliards is March 12th.

Exchequer

We have $1267 in the treasury.

Chatelaine

Middletown Pride day turns out to be on May 14th at Williamson Trade School. (Michelle from Middletown Township.) Ian Raven of Tadcaster has endorsed fencing at our demo. Magnus has offered to bring up fighters for our demo. Might be 10-4, we should arrive 9 or 9:30. Corwyn's Pavilion was really useful last year.

Delaware has their demo (Dover Days) on May 7th.

Delco Library system has asked us for a series of demos. Theme is fantasy and dragons. Suba will do story telling. We need a schedule of when events are planned.

(MOAS) Planning a regular dance practice during the summer. Still checking sites.

We got one new contact this month.

Nothing to report except working on Lord William's info.

Mistress of Arts and Sciences

Elenora: Planning an every Wednesday night A&S night at my house, 3rd Wednesday, an arts and sciences general night. Ideas include featured arts each month.

Celtic Cock Brewer's Guild meets 2nd wed of the month. This month is Pottstown.

Webmistress

Minutes are posted and officer listings are current. EK has new server.

Motion to consider a $20 donation (Corwyn, Ellen second) to defray EK server costs. Tabled until next meeting.

Marshal of Fence

Marshal of Fence has stepped down.

William - we have been fencing Sundays about 1pm at Rogue's Den. Tadcaster practices are Thursdays in Philadelphia.

Chronicler

Future Chronicler Bilgisayar: Will resume Nutshell newsletter quarterly.

Chamberlain

(Corwyn):
The Domesday book was never started so there is nothing to collect for the canton.

The chest is believed to belong to the Canton. Investigation in order.

Special committees

Finance Commitee

(William):
No new business for the finance committee.

Event Committee

(William):
Organizational meeting March 6 at 1pm at Elenora's

Bilgisayar and William to check in April or May with Arasapha farms for 2006

- Care and feeding of archery equipment workshop at Deiniol's house, last
Saturday in February

- These events needs to be posted to the Yahoo groups

Old Business

None.

New Business

April 2nd is Coronation. Canton would like to do a presentation to the new King and Queen. We could do queen's favors. Planning a workshop after after the Brew U meeting on March 6th.
