Canton Meeting Minutes

Monday January 26, 2005

Present: Lord William Graham, Lady Elenora the Tilemaker, Lord Bilgisayar Tajir al-Hisoon, Lord Deiniol ap Gwrgwst, Magdalena.
Meeting called to order at 7:45 pm

Officer’s reports:

Seneschal

(William):
- Deiniol is hereby reinstated as canton herald (actually never left office. Resignation was effective when a replacement was found, and no replacement was found.)
- Bilgisayar is appointed chronicler upon the termination of his tenure as Baronial Seneschal (March 3, 2005)
- Geoffrey Gryphon remains fencing marshal.
- Remind all officers to get reports to kingdom on time.
- Keep up the good work.

Exchequer

(Bilgisayar for Fiona):
- Reimbursement sent to Keghan for Pennsic Gate material. Check has been cashed.
- We have $1267 in the treasury.

Chatelaine

(William for Suba):
- Working on demo for May 7 at Williamson school
- Delco Library system has asked us for a series of demos. Theme is fantasy and dragons. Suba will do story telling. We need a schedule of when events are planned.

Herald

(Deiniol):
- Submitted one device in January (for Marietta da Firenze of Caer Adamant)
- Having trouble documenting Graham as a last name.
- Have been asked to check on status of Elenora's and Bob's name submissions

Mistress of Arts and Sciences

- Submitted email to be warranted
- Planning an every Wednesday night A/S night at my house
- Bilgisayar: A good project would be sheet wall for Bhakail Pennsic
encampment
- Deiniol is planning a stained glass class. Tools are limiting factor.
- William: Would like to start a weeknight Bard circle. Need site. Nice to
have fire pit. Deiniol volunteered his place, on thrown weapons night,
Thursdays after daylight savings time starts. Bilgisayar volunteered his
place.
- William: Brewer's guild meets second Wednesday at Iron Hill in Media.
- Elenora: Dance cancelled until further notice.

Webmistress

(William for Suba):
- Web site is up and running
- Need to remove emergency meeting notification

Marshal of Fence

(William for Geoffrey):
- No fencing in canton at this time
- Indian Lane is available.
- Geoffrey is working weeknights so we need a weeknight marshal.
- Maybe we can coordinate with Caer Adament on weekends.

Chronicler

(future Bilgisayar)
- Will resume Nutshell newsletter quarterly

Chamberlain

(Corwyn):
- No report

Special committees

Finance Commitee

(William):
- Approved budget for Brew U.

Event Committee

(William):
- Brew U, no planning meetings till March
- Bilgisayar and William are co-autocrats
- Events run by East Kingdom's Brewers' Guild
- Canton is hosting
- Break-even is budgeted at 26 gentles. Expect to get double that.
- Fiona is registrar
- Fiona and Damiana are working Troll

- Beltaine is not forgotten
- Bilgisayar and William to check with Arasapha farms for 2006

- Care and feeding of archery equipment workshop at Deiniol's house, last
Saturday in February
- This event needs to be posted to the Yahoo groups

Old Business

- $50 donation from Canton to Barony to defray cost of Cliveden is approved
- Plans in works to buy a pavilion, 12 (or 15) by 20 $264 w/o tax and
shipping
- Needs 6 posts. $73 from Panther
- Request that people buy a post (decorate it) and donate it.
- Would like two sets of posts, one to leave at Pennsic.

New Business

- New site: Media Inn, seats 400, wet, Day only, Sat. nights taken.
- Need Yahoo announcement for canton business meeting
